For Immediate Release
Gardena, Calif., December 14, 2017 – Memorial Hospital of Gardena (MHG) has been selected as the YMCA 2017 Community Partnership Award Winner. This award is the largest tribute to be given on an annual basis by the Gardena-Carson Family YMCA.
MHG was selected for demonstrating a strong commitment, its active involvement and for making significant financial contributions to support YMCA programs. Hospital physicians and staff are currently very involved in the “Healthy Living Series.” Many of the directors, physicians and health experts from MHG volunteer their time to give community presentations on topics such as signs and symptoms of a stroke, information on diabetes, tips for how to avoid weight gain during the holidays and general nutrition advice. The hospital will be honored on December 7th at a YMCA event.
“We are honored to have received this award as we believe strongly in building community partnerships to best promote health and happiness within our community,” said Kathy Wojno, Administrator of Memorial Hospital of Gardena. “The YMCA is an outstanding organization and we look forward to continuing our combined efforts to support healthy living.”
The Gardena-Carson Family YMCA offers programs which promote family time, health, well-being, social responsibility, fitness, children’s camps that promote everything from science to sports and art, and so much more. For more information on their programs visit www.ymcala.org.
